Wall of prayers for Quakers Hill residents
The children of Mary Immaculate Primary School at Quakers Hill have been busy with their pens and prayers this week.
To honour those who lost their lives as well as help those who have lost their homes for now, the children have written a collection of prayers. Written or drawn on little heart shapes the prayers range from pictures and short messages to long and touching thoughts.
One child wrote:
“I pray for all the people who died and got injured from the fire. Bless the people who helped in the fire and help the people who were in the fire.”
Father Ian McGinnity, the local Catholic parish priest at Mary Immaculate, spoke at the memorial service and worked with the children and teachers to put the prayer wall together. The wall is located in the multi-purpose room within the school for student, parent and teacher access.
