Respite Care
At Domain Principal we understand the need for short or longer term respite, not only for the person requiring ongoing care and support, but also for the carer. Both short and longer term respite enables carers to have a well-deserved break with peace of mind that their loved ones are receiving the highest quality care from our dedicated, professional staff.
If you or your loved one has a current aged care assessment, you are eligible for 63 days respite in any year.
Some of our homes have Day Respite Care which is designed to meet the respite needs for carers whilst providing a social outing to look forward to for the care recipient. At our Day Respite programs a range of services are offered and can include but are not limited to:
- Pain management clinic
- Podiatry
- Physiotherapy
- Dietician
- Bus trips
- Yoga / Pilates
- Hairdressing
- Hydrotherapy (offered at Domain Paynesville)
- Lifestyle activities such as cards, craft, art, cinema days, bingo, gardening, men’s shed
